FLOOD ALERT
A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for Christchurch Harbour.
Flooding is possible for Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon this evening and tomorrow evening.
Low lying coastal land and roads will be affected first.
Be prepared!
The following Flood Alerts will remain in force for two hours following the times of high water.
The time and dates of the forecast high waters for which these Flood Alerts are in force are 11:00 pm (Local time) on 11/08/2014 ( 10:00 pm GMT) and 11:45 pm (Local time) on 12/08/2014 ( 10:45 pm GMT).
The forecast wind direction is west south westerly
The forecast wind strengths is Force 5
The forecast tide level on 11/08/2014 is 1.22 mAOD and on 12/08/2014 is 1.28 mAOD

Lights Out 1914-18 WW1 Commemorations

Christchurch will join the rest of the country to mark the centenary of World War 1 on Monday 4 August 2014. Local residents and visitors are invited to participate in an open air concert and candlelit vigil of prayer in Saxon Square and at the Mayor’s Parlour starting at 9 pm and ending at 10 pm on Monday 4 August 2014. The programme will present artists’ perceptions of the War as articulated and captured in poetry, music and other art forms.
