Come along and meet your neighbours. I will be there to help open the meeting, but it is for you all to discuss with each other and to help find any solutions.

PLAY PARK

THE JUMPERS PLAY PARK WAS RE OPENED YESTERDAY!
To the grateful thanks of the Council, The Slide equipment has been repaired once again, for the benefit of the younger children in our area, I would like to think that any larger children will now consider the younger ones who get a great deal of pleasure using this equipment for whom it was made and not damage it any more, thus preventing them from having so much pleasure. I would also request that people using this equipment refrain from allowing dogs in the compound at any time. The Council are in the process of installing a camera in this area to protect further damage and to catch the culprits who abuse the equipment and local area.

VANDALS STRIKE AT PLAY PARK AGAIN!!!

Just when the weather turns a little nicer, mindless vandals destroy the enjoyment for our very young children at the Jumpers Common Cemetery Play Park, (off Endfield Road), by causing more serious damage to the play equipment. This is a particularly nasty spate of  anti-social behaviour by a few vandals who have no consideration or respect for our younger residents. They have no thought of what distress they have caused, the cost are so great, that the equipment may now have to be closed for some weeks under health & safety reasons and yet once again, the younger children will miss out at a time the nicer weather allows them to play outside on the equipment.  I believe that these vandals have no care for anyone, but just thoughtless actions of vandalism fired by their own selfish attitudes. It has been reported over the past few weeks that a number of these groups have been congregating around this area, smoking, drinking and generally causing anti-social behaviour. Spot checks by the police and council have not been successful to date but will continue in trying to stop this, but I cannot understand their reasoning, they do not understand that they too belong to our own community, but feel that they must only degrade the area and make it look and feel derelict by ruining the enjoyment for everyone. Broken glass left behind has also caused a number of problems for our dog walkers, with some of their dogs having suffered serious injuries to their paws by broken glass around on the paths and fields. I would hope that everyone in the area could keep an eye on their own parts of the Ward and report any problems straight away. If anyone has any information they would like to give in confidence, please contact me, so this information can be passed onto the appropriate authorities.  You can also contact the police anonymously throughCrime Stoppers which has a free phone number. 0800 555 111.

Regards, Cllr. Fred Neale
